I started crocheting when I was 8 years old and continued through out most of my teenage years. I put it on the back burner for a few of my young adult years as I was busy starting my own daycare, getting married and having babies.
I love being a mom and I love crafting with my kids. My main hobby is crochet but I also enjoy painting, arts and crafts, sewing and photography. I recently purchased my own sewing machine and have hopes of using more often as I get better at it. I consider myself an amature photographer. I have a passion for capturing life's little moments and I love producing a quality product photo. I am gradually learning more about my camera and editing techniques. It is a lot of fun.
I started Mel's Crocheted Creations in 2011 and it has been quite a journey. I never thought it would take off as well as it did but I am so happy it did! I have really enjoyed making new things and meeting so many new people along the way. I recently separated out my "newborn props" into a new shop, Bundle of Joy Props. It is still a work in progress but I love the name and being able to put my focus there when needed.
