Making our own snow globes

Making snow globes is something that has been on my to do list for quite a while.  We finally got around to making them today.  I only had Landon and Autumn home to do this today but I am SURE Logan and Gloria will be making on this evening!

Snow Globes

We gathered our supplies.  "TOY" of choice.  They each chose a fake model tree.  Then we super glued them to the inside of the lid, added distilled water to our jars (adding liquid glycerin will thicken the water and make the snow fall slower but I couldn't find any in the stores...oh well.)

Add glitter to the water.  Use as little or as much as you want.  We used quite a bit :-)

Shake and ENJOY

And now you have a beautiful homemade snow globe to enjoy.

Thumb Print Trees

It is a beautiful but rainy fall day here.  So we decided to work on a few fun fall crafts.  The first one we did today was "thumb print tree".  These were easy and lots of fun.

Thumb Print Trees

We worked together to paint the tree trunk and branches.

Landon is not my "messy" child.  He refused to use his thumb to make the leaves despite my best efforts to convince him that it was ok.  LOL  He opted for the paint brush :-)

Autumn did a great job making her thumb print leaves :-)

Showing me her messy hands.  This cracks me up because it is SO NOT messy.  If this were Gloria, she would be COVERED in paint :-)

Weekly Wrap Up

This is my busy time of year and I am plugging along trying to get lots of orders done each week.  I am very happy with last weeks progress and hoping this week is just as productive.

Here is what I got done this week:

3-6 month Raven's Football Beanie

6-12 month fuzzy button beanie

Four super cute fuzzy bear hats

Adorable Lauren Beanie with Elephant applique

Newborn cute as a button beanie

Newborn turtle set

Newborn long tail stocking cap

Halloween inspired hair spirals

Halloween inspired hair spirals (also great to show your support for the ORIOLES!!!)

Adult slipper boots

Cupcake headband

Adult Sam earflap hat
I made all 6 of these awesome basket weave beanies in one day (while having to figure out the sizing for the pattern).  It was sort of a personal goal/challenge to figure out the pattern for all the sizes.  It was a great sense of accomplishment and now I have this awesome new hat to add to my shop.  Most of these hats will be part of my stock at the Painted Daisy Consignment shop, so it was a win/win :-)
Wow, that is a lot of stuff...even for me!  Now, time to get to work and get just as much done this week :-)

Thursday's Free Pattern (just a little late)

Ok, I am admittedly not the most organized blogger.  I am trying.  I just get so busy with working on orders, my kids and the house that sometimes I forget about it.  I really enjoy writing up my blog posts so please forgive me if and when I fall behind and then play catch up again.

Sorry...I missed last week's Free Pattern so here it is.

This time of year I am all about apples and pumpkins...pretty much anything fall related.  I thought I would share one of my favorite amigurumi patterns by Lion Brand.  I love the Lion Brand website, they have many free patterns available.  You may have to sign up/log in to view this pattern.

Free Amigurumi Apple Crochet pattern:  HERE IS THE PATTERN

This is such a cute little apple.  It would make a great teachers gift, baby rattle, add a sachet inside for a cute little fragrant decoration.

Have Fun!
