Random Crafting

I have missed blogging about all of my crafts.  Sometimes we get carried away with our fun and I just don't have time to post each thing individually.  That is not a bad thing until I have to play catch up and post it all at one time.

I admit that over this winter/holiday time, I have not done as many crafts with my kids as I would have liked.  It was just a very busy time for me and for what ever reason, I was not as organized as I normally am.

We did make time for some crafting fun though :-)

Logan got this fun craft for Christmas.  Here he is making some superheros :-)

Fun craft but it was a HUGE fail for us.  LOL  We made out own slime, well we tried :-)

Adding the clear glue
Stirring the "mess".
We were just too impatient.  I missed the part in the directions about it taking a VERY LONG time to mix before the consistency would be right.  So, when we mixed for what seemed like long enough and it was still very runny, we added more and more glue.  Big mistake.  Eventually it did set and we had a very STIFF but pretty ball of nothing.  LOL  We had fun punching holes in our new mold though.

My daughter loves to sew but is still just learning.  These little felt crafts are perfect for her.  She did finish this project, I just don't have any pictures of it yet.

Evie watching Gloria sew.  She is about to attempt it herself.

Evie and Gloria both sewing. SEW proud :-)

We needed to make something Christmas related so we found this cute Christmas tree craft idea.  Super easy.  We just painted some popsicle sticks green (and a little brown for the bottom), wrapped some green pipe cleaners around it and cut to size.  Then we put on some pony beads and twisted the ends to secure.

I cut stars out of paper and added some glue and glitter.  Then I glued a clothespin to the back so it could clip on to the tree.

Next was our attempt as making our FIRST gingerbread house.  Next time I will use hot glue!  hahaha

Here is our gingerbread house attempt, right before it fell apart and we snacked on it.

Gloria is snacking on the front of the house.  She is quite happy it fell apart.

Landon about to dig in!  lol

This was so fun and probably one of the easiest (almost boring) crafts we have made.  They are fun to play with though.

Take 3 wine corks, hot glue them together.  Cut a shape out of craft foam and stick it on with a tooth pick.  We added a little hook to the back to attach a string on one of them.  These float perfectly too.  So fun if you live close to water!

Gloria and I spent a day making our own dough and then making some animals.  Lots of simple recipes can be found on pinterest.  Then we just made the shape we wanted and baked it in our toaster oven for about 20 minutes.  Her new pets have held up well.

Here is the first one we made, just before being baked.  We also made a puppy!
We did these a little late but they were fun anyway.  We will happily hang them on our tree next Christmas (or should I say this Christmas!)
